Soy Yo

1. I have some trouble with the English language. For example:
I think quirk should be quark. I get it wrong every time, Ben corrects me.
I had to look up ornery in the dictionary, I didn’t believe that it was “Hon-ry”
I often say epi-tome instead of e-pit-o-mee
I only found out last summer that Colonel somehow spells “Kernel”
It just doesn’t make sense, this silly language. I’m glad I was raised speaking it, it would be hard to learn!

2. I love to be in the forest. I love to take walks, go jogging, or ride a bike in the woods. I prefer natural "you-have-to-make-your-own" trails as opposed to cement trails. I’ve had many moments of discovery about myself, life, and who I am while in the forest. I miss all the woods in Washington.

3. I want to be a philanthropist.

4. I love grandparents.

5. Oprah is one of my heroes.

6. I say all of my personal prayers in Spanish.

7. I love art, colors, pictures, music, architecture, especially that of southern Spain. Some of my favorite books are “A Day in the Life of…” You will usually find me in the art or travel section of a bookstore.

8.I am afraid of deep water, SIDS, car accidents, freak accidents, terrorists, natural disasters, sprouts on potatoes, bugs inside my house, moldy vegetables, and being attacked by a bear or a psycho while I’m enjoying the forest. Basically, it’s a miracle I make it out of the house and I should really stop watching the news.

9. I love it when families share happy memories of one another and I also love being present when those happy memories are made.

10. I thrive on simple moments. Some of my favorite include Ben dancing with the girls, Evelyn and Hannah exchanging a happy moment, listening to grandparents speak and tell stories of their lives, being a happy family outside in nature, going into Evelyn’s bedroom when she first wakes up and hearing all that she has to say, catching one of those glimpses from Ben that gives me the “I’m in love” flurries just like when we were dating, having family meals, the list could go on and on and on!

11. One more, I LOVE other cultures. If I ever travel to different countries, I want my travel to be focused on the people of those countries and the landscapes. Landmarks are great, but you can see them just as easily in a book (but I won’t deny that it is fantastically wonderful to see them in person). I want to taste the homemade food of the people, hear how they talk, talk to them in their own language, be in their homes, see how they act with their families, see how their circumstances molded them to be who they are. Doing that as a missionary made me realize that’s the only way I want to travel.

Me, Myself, and I

Weird and strange things about me:

1. I love to take showers, but I hate knowing that afterwards I have to blow dry my hair(which takes about 20 mins.) , put on make up and pick out an outfit for the day. So unfortunatley for Matt and the people I associate through out the day, I don't take a shower as often as I should. Yikes!

2. When I was in Jr. High my biggest day dreams were being the lead singer in a popular band and performing at the Jr. High talent show and being an undercover cop and saving the school from some dangerous person. How nerdy is that!

3. I get a lot of pleasure out of dusting things espeacially if they haven't been dusted for a long time.

4. I have this distgusting desire to pop zits. Yucky I know, but I don't understand how people can let a white head go unpopped! I would be more than happy to pop it for them.

5. I love shoes very much. I think there are so many cute shoes out there and I have a closet full of them. However, I never wear shoes in my apartment and I usually wear the same pair of flip flops everyday. Most of my shoes in my closet I have only worn two or three times and yet I always thinks I don't have enough shoes and want to buy more.

6. This one most of you already know about me. I always get my words confused! I either put them in the wrong order (i.e. all sizes fit one instead of one size fits all) or I completely confuse the word with something else. (i.e. the other day I put Matt into a wrestling position and said, "I've got you in a Willy Nelson." what I should of said is, "I got you in a full nelson." Willy Nelson is a country singer.) Oh, brother!

P.S. I also have no idea what "i.e" stand for, I just know people use it when they give examples of things. So if you know what it stands for let me know.

Things you may or maynot know about Me

1. A couple of my pet peeves are: Leaving the milk out, people driving under the speed limit, leaving cupboard doors open.
2.I love to make up my own songs about things happening or things that I am doing at that moment.
3.The weirdest thing I have ever eaten is sushi-which should prove that I am not open to trying weird foods.
4. I did try Indian food (India) and it was delicious.
5.I love being in school and can't wait to get started again! (Hopefully this fall)
6.I went cross country skiing for the first time and I absolutely loved it!! We took pictures but we can't get them to transfer to the computer. We'll keep trying.
7. Pride and prejudice is my all time favorite movie. I could watch it all day every day. In fact, I am watching it right now as I type.
8.My fears are clowns, extreme heights and falling down hill
9.I bite my nails when I am bored or nervous. Disgusting habit, i know, I am trying to stop
10.I take after dad when it comes to my morning routine. It has never changed and never will.
11.I hate being disorganized and feeling like I don't know what is going on.
12. I also hate being late. If something starts at 9:00, I'll be there at 8:45. I know that always bothered Natalie growing up but she and I don't live together anymore so... I am always early!!
I know that is more than six things but hey, what can I say, I'm an over achiever!!! Anyway I Love you guys and hope to here fro you all soon! Nicole

Grammie can blog

Things your may not know about Grammie:

1. I have never broken a bone....I have blown my ACL & sprained an ankle...come to think of it
None of my 8 kids have broken a bone....I think Bryan had a hairline fracture in an elbow
after a basketball game if I remember right! Pretty good I'd say! Uh oh...I just
remembered Brad broke a toe...oh well....7 out of 8 isn't bad.

2. I often get physically ill...throw up or worse ...when I have to talk in front of groups of
people..it is getting a little better these past few years but it definitely still haunts me.

3. I love watching suspenseful movies, sweet love stories, movies that have a happy and uplifting message and eating junior mints with popcorn.

4. I love reading a good book....I hardly get to read it seems anymore...I miss it.

5. I am fairly "low matenience" when it comes to things that really make me happy...being with
my children, playing or reading with my grandchildren, fixing someone their favorite food, knowing that my family love each other and make each other a priority, surprising someone with little things I think they might enjoy, feeling my husband truly understands me ....basically it all centers on my family....thats all I really need.

6. My pet peeves...leaving clothes on the floor of the laundry room.....taking things out of the dryer onto the floor or stuffed in a basket, only adding to my HUGE pile of ironing, you take it out, you fold or hang it up!...... not giving your very best effort on an assignment, chore, job or whatever.... not being sensitive to others feelings.....

7. There is very little that I will not eat when it comes to being opened minded about food....there are only a few foods I can think of that I truly hate and will not eat (yes, I have tried them) Liver or any other organ meat, menudo, tongue, pickled pigs feet, kim chee, and sushi, and runny yolked eggs. Any way that is all I can think of ...the list is not all inclusive I am sure...

8. My true fears in life are heights, deep water, and disappointing people I care about.

9. I struggle most with self discipline and belief in my abilities.

10. I am pretty boring...It has taken me a LONG time to think up these things! And I would't be surprised if you alreay knew most of what I shared!

Well, I blogged.....it may not be worth reading....but I did it!

Love you all,

Mom and Grammie

Ideas for Blogging

Okay guys, if you haven't noticed, this is definately turning into the Ben Wyeth Family Blog! We love to blog, but for us the highlights are hearing from YOU! Here are some ideas:

1. Ten things that happened this week (An idea from Chenae's blog)
2. Five of your favorite things
3. Five of your not-so-favorite things

And you are all officially "TAGGED!" This means you have to write six quirky things about you that the family might not know (we got this idea from the Christensen family blogs, see their links if you need ideas). It can be things like funny habits (maybe excessive showering :), pet peeves, fondest dreams, hopes, worries, likes, dislikes. 6 things. You can do it! I would love to go first, but I don't want to be the only one that does it. First one to go is definately a winner and all to follow are super-blogger-winners as well!!! PLEASE?! WILL SOMEONE ELSE BLOG?!??!?!

Hannah's Blessing

Ben can always get our girls to smile and laugh! Hannah loves to sing "BINGO" and "Pat-a-Cake" with Ben. She tries to laugh, but it sounds like a grunt.
Beautiful Hannah on her blessing day
Thankyou for coming! We had such a wonderful time with you here! We missed those who weren't able to make it and can't wait to see you sometime in the near future.
Thanks Grammie and Grandad! We love you!
We caught Evelyn hiding in the kitchen cupboard with a balloon. When we opened the door she screamed and made this face! It was a funny moment, we're glad we caught it!

Chronicles of Wyeth-ia

We've been getting ready to send out our traditional Valentine's newsletters (because Valentine's day is our anniversary, we send out our newsletter in February instead of Christmas) and this is one of the pictures we took for it. It's not the one we chose, but we thought it was kind of cute.

Hannah has begun blowing raspberries, she even does it when she's sleeping!

Ben was singing with Hannah and Evelyn decided that she wanted to join in so she climbed up, sat on his face, and started to sing along! Talk about a Kodak moment!

Evelyn loves her Bob the Builder hat she got at her friend Alex's birthday party so much that she even wears it in the bath! She looks like she's a member of the Village People!

Evelyn is also obsessed with Mary Poppins and likes to pretend to take her medicine and say "Mmm rum punch...delicious!"

These are a few of the Hess children that Jessica used to nanny for in Idaho. Much to our surprise and elation, they moved to Cedar right after Christmas so now Evelyn has a few more playmates! They're playing in Evelyn's play house and enjoying a meal of plastic food. Evelyn seems to be immensely enjoying her drumstick!

Evelyn got an early moring surprise visit from her friends Luke and Suzanne while their mom went to a meeting. They had a little campout on the couch! Fun times, eh?

Some more of the gilrs...

Another cheese ball smile!
This is all that's left of the pear that Evelyn devoured! She ate the seeds and all.
She's all smiles!
Evelyn likes to keep busy, she's always got some new article of clothing on! Today it was Ben's socks!
Hannah getting ready for her big blessing day!
